Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Birth and Baby Fair?
The Birth and Baby Fair is a free community event that connects families to local prenatal, birth and postpartum professionals through face to face interactions at vendor tables, in-person workshops on the day of the event and take-home education in our free participant Welcome Bags.
Who attends the Birth and Baby Fair?
The Birth and Baby Fair is a free community event for anyone in their childbearing years: those planning to conceive, folks who are expecting and those who are already postpartum. We have vendors and activities for the pre-conception period, the prenatal period, the postpartum period and early childhood.
What vendors can I expect to see at the Birth and Baby Fair?
We will have vendors that care for and support families during pregnancy and birth like hospitals, midwives, doulas and body workers (chiropractic care, massage therapists and cranial sacral therapists). We will also have postpartum resources like mental health therapists, lactation professionals and pelvic floor therapists. We will also have resources for early childhood such as forest schools and community resources. We plan to have food vendors and well.
What workshops will be at the 2026 Birth and Baby Fair?
Our 2026 list is coming soon! Here is an example of past workshops:
Breastfeeding 101
Prenatal Yoga
Prepping Your Birth Partner
Prenatal Nutrition
Taking Charge of Your Birth
Nature Play
Beyond the Baby Blues
I already have kids. Can I bring them?
Absolutely. We chose our space at Lincoln Park Middle School because it has proximity to their gym where we will have lots of activities for kids: art and crafts and big movement activities. We will have free water and snacks for all participants as well.
